What we do

Arboricultural services, grounded in the standards

From a single backyard tree to a multi-stage sub-division, our reports are written to be defensible to a council, a court, or a neighbour. Everything is assessed in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and current industry best practice.

Core Service 01

Project Arborist

When works are conducted around protected trees, councils require a qualified project arborist to supervise and certify the process. We guide the works, establish and monitor Tree Protection Zones (TPZ) and Structural Root Zones (SRZ), and provide the certification councils need to sign off.

  • Establishment and inspection of tree protection fencing before works begin
  • Supervision of any incursion into a TPZ, including non-destructive root investigation
  • Hold-point inspections through demolition, earthworks and construction
  • Liaison with your design team to develop tree-sensitive construction methods
  • Pre-, during- and post-construction certification for council

Arboricultural Impact Assessment

An AIA report shows the impacts to trees within and adjacent to the boundaries of a construction project, and forms part of the development process requested by local councils. This could be as small as a backyard shed where protected trees are involved, through to large developments and sub-divisions.

  • Inventory of affected trees with botanical and common names
  • Tree dimensions, health, structure and retention value
  • Indicative and actual TPZ / SRZ calculations to AS 4970-2009
  • Assessment of encroachment and mitigation measures
  • A site-specific Tree Protection Plan to support your DA

Core Service 03

Tree Risk Assessments

We assess trees for risk and offer practical mitigation measures to reduce it. Risk assessment is not a calculation. It's the considered judgement of an experienced, trained arborist, grounded in observation. Commonly conducted for high-use areas like schools and public spaces, and just as readily for a single tree in someone's backyard.

  • Systematic visual tree assessment of structure and health
  • Target assessment: people, buildings, vehicles and infrastructure
  • Clear risk rating with the basis for that rating named
  • Practical, proportionate mitigation recommendations
  • A written report you can act on and rely on
